House Republicans Propose Responsible Plan To Balance The Budget

Posted by Connor Walsh on

A balanced budget brings a growing economy, more jobs and better opportunities for all Americans.

Today, House Republicans proposed a bold, responsible budget that does just that. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor released the following statement in support of the House GOP’s fiscal year 2014 budget resolution:

“Today, House Republicans put forward a responsible plan to balance the budget and expand economic opportunity for all Americans. The budget by Chairman Paul Ryan and the House Budget Committee promises to increase economic growth and job creation through bringing down all tax rates and increasing the share of after tax wages families will have available to spend, save or invest. Additionally, this budget targets wasteful government spending and strengthens our entitlement programs so they will be there for future generations. This serious plan reflects our vision of how to revive the economy and make life work for more families.

“The White House has yet to even deliver a budget, and this week the Administration said they have no intention of presenting one that balances. This is not right and the American people deserve better. With the right reforms in place, we can balance the budget, cut waste and create more jobs. It’s time to work together on common sense solutions.”
