The House passed the National Defense Authorization Act in a 315-108 vote. Upon passage, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor released the following statement:
"Today, the House passed the National Defense Authorization Act to keep America secure and provide for our troops and their families. As we've seen in Boston and other recent events around the world, terror can strike without warning. At a time of considerable instability and uncertainty, it is as important as ever to fully fund our men and women in uniform. This bipartisan measure gives our troops the tools and resources they need to protect our national security. It also provides protections for victims of sexual assault within our military and restores military readiness to address future threats.
I'd like to thank Chairman Buck McKeon and the House Armed Services Committee for their leadership on this important legislation which reflects our unwavering commitment to our men and women in uniform and to the defense of our nation."
