House Majority Leader Eric Cantor released the following statement on President Obama's trip to New Orleans today:
"It is inconceivable to me why the President would visit New Orleans and ignore the at-risk children he is harming with his lawsuit against Louisiana. On Monday, I toured one of the schools participating in the Louisiana Scholarship Program and I met the students who would be hurt by President Obama’s lawsuit. These are good kids, thriving in a better school environment and making the most of this opportunity. These kids deserve better from President Obama.
"How can the President want to force children into dangerous, ineffective schools, and worse use the guise of civil rights as a smokescreen for doing so? I again call on President Obama to at least visit one of these schools, look the children in the eyes, and explain to them and their families why he doesn’t think they deserve a quality education."
