Cantor Honored For Children's Advocacy
Posted by Nick Marcelli on April 14, 2014

On Friday evening, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor received the 2014 Children's Advocacy Award at the annual Children's Ball to benefit Children's National Health System:

"Doctors, nurses, and researchers at Children's National do outstanding work on behalf of children and their families every day. Providing quality care to children so that they can live brighter and healthier lives is a top priority. Over the last year, the Congress has advanced important legislation that puts kids first, including the PREEMIE Act, the Children's Hospital GME Support Reauthorization Act, and the Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act. I am committed to continue working together to find treatments and cures for our kids. It was an incredible honor to receive the Children's Advocacy Award and I will keep working to build support for pediatric research so we can help more children."

Posted by Nick Marcelli on April 10, 2014

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor today gave the following remarks on the House floor in support of the Pro Growth Budget Act:

"Mr. Chairman, I rise today in support of the Pro Growth Budget Act. Right now, America is not working for too many people. For years our economy has remained stagnant and job growth weak. At the current time, 3 out of 4 Americans report that they are living paycheck to paycheck. The ability to climb the economic ladder of success and live the American Dream is becoming much more difficult for millions of people.

"Mr. Chairman, this is the status quo in America, but it is a status quo that we must not accept. Our constituents deserve better. Our constituents deserve a government that is focused on turning this economy around and making America work again, and work again for everybody.

Lois Lerner referred to DOJ for criminal prosecution
Posted by Eric Cantor on April 9, 2014

Over the past year, House investigations have uncovered evidence indicating that IRS official Lois Lerner targeted conservative groups because of their political beliefs, a violation of the law.

Moments ago, the House Committee on Ways & Means voted to refer IRS employee Lois Lerner to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution. In 97 pages of detail, the Committee provides evidence of Lois Lerner’s political bias and prejudice.

The evidence made public today shows that Lois Lerner directed IRS agents to deny applications and to audit conservatives.

The IRS and Lois Lerner must be held accountable for their actions and I expect Attorney General Eric Holder to take the appropriate steps regarding this criminal referral without further political bias.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor gave the following remarks at the weekly Republican leadership press conference:

"America isn't working when people's bills are too high, taxes are too high, and they have less take-home pay in their pockets. Our Democratic colleagues believe the answer to these problems is $1.8 trillion in tax hikes so they can spend more. That's not right and it's not fair.
