House Majority Leader Eric Cantor appeared on On The Record with Greta Van Susteren to talk about ObamaCare and the future of the Republican Party.
Republicans Have Patient-Centered Alternative To ObamaCare:
“The President knows we have ideas. In fact, go back to 2009 when the ObamaCare law was passed. All Republicans in the end voted against that bill, but we voted for our alternative. The alternative that we had even enjoyed a Congressional Budget Office score which said that our plan would actually lower the cost of premiums unlike ObamaCare.”
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor delivered the following remarks at House Republican Leadership's Weekly Press Conference:
"Last week, as working middle class families across this nation prepared for Thanksgiving, the Obama Administration tried to hide another unilateral one-year delay of ObamaCare.
Members are advised that Monday, December 9th, will now be a legislative day with a few bills considered under suspension of the rules. Members are further advised that no votes will be scheduled for Monday, December 9th.
First votes of the week will occur no earlier than 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10th. This is a change from the previously announced schedule.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor today released the following statement on H.R. 1900, the Natural Gas Pipeline Permitting Reform Act. This bill modernizes the natural gas pipeline permitting review process by establishing firm timelines for the review of such applications.
“With the passage of the Natural Gas Pipeline Permitting Act, the House has passed three bipartisan bills this week to cut red-tape, develop domestic energy resources, and reduce energy costs for American families. Hardworking middle class Americans shouldn’t have to choose between heating their homes or putting groceries on the table because energy prices are too high. The House is committed to ensuring affordable energy for middle class families across our country and the Senate should join us toward that end by taking action on these three bipartisan bills without delay. I thank Congressman Pompeo, Chairman Upton, and the Energy and Commerce Committee for their hard work on this bill as we continue our efforts to ensure affordable, reliable energy for all Americans.”
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor delivered the following remarks on the House floor in favor of H.R. 2728, the Protecting States’ Rights to Promote American Energy Security Act:
“Thank you, Mr. Chairman and I thank the gentleman from Washington. I rise today in support of the Protecting States’ Rights to Promote American Energy Security Act.
“Over the last ten years America has been experiencing a shale energy boom and because of new technology in hydraulic fracturing, the development of energy resources has been environmentally friendly. While the technology that has made this boom possible is truly impressive, I want to take a moment and focus on the impact this boom is having on hard working middle class families.
