Joint Cantor-Hoyer Statement On Administration Veto of Anti-Israel U.N. Security Council Resolution

Posted on

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) today issued the following statement after the Administration vetoed an anti-Israel U.N. Security Council resolution being pushed by the Palestinian Authority:

"We are pleased that the Obama Administration vetoed the anti-Israel resolution before the U.N. Security Council today. Moving forward, we must continue to make it clear that peace cannot be imposed; it must be negotiated directly between Israelis and Palestinians. It is high time that the Palestinians return to the negotiating table, rather than skirt the peace process by bringing biased, unproductive resolutions to the United Nations."
