WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement on the job growth measures the House will act on next week as part the House Republicans’ fall legislative agenda.
“House Republicans are serious about making sure America is a place for opportunity, and that is why we are focused on ideas supported by the President and Democrats in Congress that will create jobs and return economic growth. Next week, the House will vote to repeal the 3 percent withholding rule to remove unnecessary costs on businesses already facing uncertainty. This is an idea that the President supported when he spoke before Congress last month, and I thank Congressman Wally Herger for sponsoring this legislation and Congresswoman Diane Black for proposing areas elsewhere in the federal government to find savings. The House will also vote on a measure sponsored by Congressman Paul Gosar to provide for the development of our nation’s copper resources, enabling thousands of private sector jobs to be created and generating economic growth. I urge the Senate and the Administration to pass these measures to pave the way for job creation.”
