House Holds Obama Administration Agencies Accountable For Costly Regulations

Posted on

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement on the passage of H.R. 3010 The Regulatory Accountability Act. A broad range of groups, representing large and small businesses, support the passage of this legislation to update the Administrative Procedure Act and improve the regulatory process.

“Today’s unemployment numbers show the economy still is not creating enough new jobs. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue, we need to work together on areas of common ground to get the economy going and get people back to work.

"The House continues to focus on boosting job creation by ensuring businesses have more opportunity to expand and hire. Right now, cash-strapped businessmen and women cannot expand their businesses or create jobs because they face an onslaught of burdensome regulations from the Obama Administration. This bipartisan legislation will make federal agencies more accountable to employers across the country by requiring improved, less costly regulations. I thank Chairman Lamar Smith for sponsoring this legislation that will pave the way for job creation.”
