“Our members are back in town, and we are about to go on our retreat. The discussion that we had today could be characterized as one in which our members are united around the realization that the policies that have been promoted by this Administration have not worked. When you look at the spending and you look at the continued expansion of Washington, what hasn’t happened is an expansion of the private sector and job creation.
“Our members are going to be hyper-focused on how we go about creating small business jobs. We know that the engine of jobs in this country is the small businesses. That will be our focus. We will continue to try and work with our colleagues on the other side of the aisle to make sure we are doing everything we can to make small businesses the centerpiece of this country again.”
