WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) visited Google Headquarters in Mountain View, CA. Leader Cantor toured the Google campus, tested a driver-less car and had a policy meeting with Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Senior Vice President & General Counsel Kent Walker, Managing Partner at Google Ventures Bill Maris, Partner at Google Ventures Rick Klau, and Vice President at Google Ventures Milo Medin.

Leader Cantor stated, “The world’s most innovative companies have started in America because in this country anyone can launch a new business that could change the world. Today, I visited Google’s Mountain View campus, just blocks away from the garage where this revolutionary company began. Google continues to break new ground by reinventing what is possible. We must ensure America remains the best place for innovators and entrepreneurs, like the founders of Google, to get their ideas off the ground. This week, the President will sign the bipartisan JOBS Act that lifts regulations holding back entrepreneurs and small business owners. We need to continue to work together on policies that will help startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses harness the power of the free market, so the Googles of the future will still call America their home. Their success is essential to our global competitiveness, economic growth and job creation.”

Susan Molinari, Vice President of Public Policy for Google, added, “We are excited that Majority Leader Cantor could make the time to stop by the Googleplex and learn more about our products. It is always great to have members of Congress visit Silicon Valley and learn more about what the Internet industry is doing to encourage innovation and create economic opportunity.”
