Leader Cantor Announces Staff Changes For 113th Congress

WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) announced the following staff changes for the Office of the Majority Leader in the 113th Congress:

Kyle Nevins, Deputy Chief of Staff: Kyle will be leaving the Office of the Majority Leader in the coming weeks after serving the last two years as Deputy Chief of Staff. Previously, he served as Leader Cantor’s Director of Floor Operations during the 111th Congress. He also spent six years on the Floor Office staff of then-House Republican Whip Roy Blunt. He has served over 10 years on the staff of the House Republican Leadership.

Chris Vieson, Director of Floor Operations: In this capacity, Chris will take over Kyle Nevins’ floor responsibilities. Chris previously served as Deputy Floor Director in the 112th Congress. He has extensive knowledge in parliamentary procedure and managing the House’s legislative agenda on the floor. He has worked for Leader Cantor since January of 2009. Prior to working for Leader Cantor, Chris was Floor Assistant to Republican Whip Roy Blunt. He also worked at the House Republican Conference under both Reps. Adam Putnam and Deborah Pryce as a policy analyst. Chris is a graduate of Tulane University.

Sarah Kish, Floor Assistant: Sarah will remain Floor Assistant to the Office of the Majority Leader, a position she has held since July of 2012. She will continue to assist the Members in the daily legislative schedule on the House floor. Previously, she worked as Professional Staff at the House Judiciary Committee under then-Chairman Lamar Smith. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

Matt Lira, Senior Advisor: Matt previously served as Director of New Media in the 112th Congress and Digital Director for the VP Nominee at the Romney-Ryan campaign. He also served in this capacity for the Office of the Republican Whip in the 111th Congress and Chief Deputy Whip in the 110th Congress. Matt has modernized the way that Congress interacts with the public, as both communications and policy platforms. His previous experience includes positions with the House Republican Conference, Republican National Committee, and the McCain-Palin campaign.

Aaron Cutler, Senior Advisor for Policy and Outreach: Aaron will replace Mike Ference covering financial services, energy and technology policy and working on outreach to the business and finance community. Aaron previously worked on the staff of the House Energy and Commerce Committee as Deputy Policy Director and before that as Energy Counsel. As Deputy Policy Director, Aaron handled both policy and outreach issues for Chairman Upton at the full Committee level. Prior to the Energy and Commerce Committee, Aaron was a practicing attorney representing asset management firms on futures and derivatives trading matters. He also has prior legal experience with hedge fund formation, securitization and mergers and acquisitions. Aaron is a graduate of the George Washington University and University of Michigan Law School.
