Leader Cantor Applauds Passage Of CJS Appropriations Bill

Posted on

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement applauding passage of the FY 2015 Commerce, Justice, & Science Appropriations Bill:

“With the passage of the FY2015 Commerce, Justice, & Science Appropriations bill this morning, the House is continuing its work to ensure that tax dollars are spent wisely, that antiquated government programs are eliminated, and that programs critical to our safety and economic competitiveness receive the funding they need. Consistent with our priority to cut unnecessary spending and bureaucracy, this legislation continues a downward trend in spending that constitutes a 20% cut in CJS appropriations under the Republican-led House. Following House efforts to combat human trafficking last week, this legislation funds critical anti-human trafficking and anti-cyber intrusion programs to keep our citizens and our children safe. I am pleased with the work that Chairman Hal Rogers and Subcommittee Chairman Frank Wolf have done to save the American people’s hard-earned tax dollars while advancing American competitiveness through scientific innovation and keeping our people safe.”
