RICHMOND, VA – On Wednesday, May 18th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) will host a job creators forum with local business leaders at Virginia Commonwealth University. Moderated by Virginia’s Chief Jobs Creation Officer, Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling, the forum will provide a meaningful discussion with job creators from the 7th District and across the state about creating an environment to grow the economy and foster private sector job creation.
Congressman Cantor and Lieutenant Governor Bolling offered the following statements:
Congressman Cantor said, “In my meetings with business owners in the 7th District and across Virginia, it has become obvious that our businesses are innovative and poised to grow, but government has to stop making it harder for them to compete and create jobs. My top priority is making sure that Washington is a partner to job creators rather than an impediment, by implementing pro-growth measures such as fixing our tax code and eliminating burdensome regulations. This forum is focused on finding ways to foster an environment for economic growth where business people can start hiring again and we can get more Virginians back to work.”
Lieutenant Governor Bolling added, “Congressman Cantor knows that the most important issue currently facing the country is the need to get our economy growing again and create jobs. He knows that economic growth is the rising tide that will help lift American families out of the grip the recession has had on us all for the past few years. I’m looking forward to joining Congressman Cantor for a candid discussion about what we can do at the federal and state levels to pursue pro-business policies that will help the private sector thrive and create the jobs which American workers so desperately need.”
