WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement on the bipartisan Reopening American Capital Markets to Emerging Growth Companies Act of 2011, H.R. 3606, introduced by Rep. Stephen Fincher (R-TN) and Rep. John Carney (D-DE). Last night, the House Committee on Financial Services approved this bill by a bipartisan vote of 54-1.

“We must increase opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs to take risks and succeed so that they’re able to grow, innovate and create jobs. This bipartisan legislation will make it easier for high-growth, job-creating small businesses to access capital and go public. Along with this common-sense bill, House Republicans will continue to advance measures to give our nation’s job creators, small businesses and entrepreneurs more opportunity to expand, grow and create jobs, without being stifled by harmful regulations.”
