WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) today issued the following statement on the attempted attack on the U.S. Capitol:

“Thanks to the hard work of the FBI and the U.S. Capitol Police a suspected terrorist was thwarted in his attempt to attack the U.S. Capitol today. These brave members of our law enforcement community make daily sacrifices in their work to keep us safe and deserve tremendous credit for their efforts leading up to today’s successful sting. It is also a reminder that we as a nation must stay vigilant in our fight against terror and those who wish to harm the United States and our democratic way of life.”
