“Good morning, I just want to underscore what the Speaker said about our commitment to jobs and the economy. The cybersecurity bill that Mac Thornberry is here to talk about, and others, is a national security issue. But it is also, as the Speaker indicated, an issue that bears on job creation and innovation in this country.
“This week, there is not only the study out indicating that nearly half of the college graduates in this country are finding themselves going out of college and are either unemployed or underemployed. But there is a very troubling statistic that came out of another study, which says that 80% of the small businesses surveyed have said they have not hired anyone in the last three months, 45% of which say they don’t intend to.
“That underscores the import of our focusing on jobs and the economy. That underscores the import of examining the policies of this Administration, which have made it worse for small business people trying to get back into the game and getting job creation going, which is why we maintain our focus and ask our colleagues on the other side of the aisle to join us in prioritizing small business job creation."
