WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement condemning a deadly attack on Israeli citizens in Bulgaria:

"I strongly condemn today's terrorist attack on Israeli tourists in Bulgaria. This assault on innocent life is a tragic reminder of the ongoing global danger posed by international terrorism. The perpetrators - and any who harbored them - must be brought to justice.

"This attack serves as a reminder of the threat that has long been posed to citizens of the State of Israel, who have been targeted by terrorists for decades for the simple reason that they are Jewish and Israeli. The United States has made clear that Israel is our friend and ally and we will stand firmly by the State of Israel as it faces determined adversaries. Tonight we stand with our friend Israel and remember the victims of this brutal assault and offer our prayers to their families and loved ones."
