WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement on the House passage of the Russia and Moldova Jackson-Vanik Repeal and Sergei Magnitsky Rule of Law Accountability Act of 2012:

“American farmers, small business owners, and manufacturers deserve the opportunity to grow and create jobs through improved access to Russian markets. I thank Chairman Dave Camp and Chairman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen for their work to secure overwhelming bipartisan support for this legislation that puts American businesses on a level playing field with our global competitors and includes an important new human rights law aimed at supporting Russian civil society's efforts to reverse deteriorating human rights conditions in Russia, combat corruption, and establish the rule of law. I urge the Senate to move quickly on the House bill so the President can sign it into law.”
