WASHINGTON D.C. – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement after the House passed a bipartisan measure to keep the government open through the end of the fiscal year:

“Today, the House took an important step to ensure that the federal government remains open, to reduce economic uncertainty for American families and to protect our national security. It is now up to the Senate to follow our lead and make sure that necessary government services remain uninterrupted. House Republicans are committed to making smart choices that cut government waste, balance the budget and provide greater economic opportunity for future generations. I hope Senate Democrats join us in passing this measure and President Obama swiftly signs it into law.”
