WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) released the following statement regarding Senate passage of H.R. 527, the Helium Stewardship Act:

“I applaud the Senate for passing H.R. 527, the Helium Stewardship Act. I thank my colleagues in the House who have worked tirelessly to pass this bill before the October 1st deadline. In particular, I’d like to thank Chairman Doc Hastings and Representatives Charlie Dent, George Holding, Tom Reed, and Jason Chaffetz for their hard work. This bill makes important reforms to a federal program, reduces the deficit, and protects tens of thousands of American jobs in the high-tech industry, including thousands of jobs in Virginia. The House and Senate came together to find a common sense solution, and I look forward to the President swiftly signing this bill into law.”
